Mattias Forsblad is an Associate Professor at Linköping University's Department of Behavioural Sciences and Learning (IBL), within the Division of Psychology. His research focuses on cognitive processes in everyday contexts, particularly involving dementia patients, children with intellectual disabilities, and the impact of technology on decision-making and memory. He explores collaborative remembering strategies, distributed cognition in aging populations, and accessibility challenges in autonomous transportation systems.
His work bridges psychology and technology, addressing topics such as narrative identity decline in dementia, emotional responses to autonomous vehicles among vulnerable groups, and the interplay between cognitive abilities and risk perception. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of human behavior, learning, and societal challenges.
Recent publications emphasize technology-inclusive solutions for disability communities and the cognitive ecology of memory systems in natural environments. His research consistently advocates for user-centric designs that enhance agency and accessibility for marginalized populations.
