Mattias Carlström

Mattias Carlström is a Professor of Cardiorenal Physiology at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet. He leads the research group 'Microvascular oxidative stress in the triad of cardiovascular, metabolic and renal disease.' His work focuses on mechanisms linking oxidative stress, nitric oxide (NO) signaling, and their roles in hypertension, diabetes, and renal dysfunction. He holds adjunct roles at Georgetown University and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Rolf Luft Grant and Novo Nordisk Foundation's Ascending Investigator Grant.
