He holds a PhD from MIT (2000), an M.A. from Stockholm University (1995), and a B.A. from the University of Gothenburg (1994).
His research spans metaphysics, philosophy of language, and philosophy of logic, with a focus on normative concepts, ontological frameworks, and truth theories. Key projects include the Swedish Research Council-funded Alien Structure: Language and Reality and his 2017 book Choosing Normative Concepts. Recent work explores conceptual engineering, logical pluralism, and the interplay between language and metaphysical structure.
Eklund's publications include over 80 articles and edited volumes, with contributions to journals like Noûs, Inquiry, and Philosophical Studies. His writings address topics such as quantifier variance, fictionalism, and the foundations of neo-Fregean philosophy. He has also reviewed major works in metaphysics and language theory.
His current research emphasizes the Alien Structure project, examining how language and reality interact through frameworks and ontological commitments. This work bridges analytic philosophy traditions with contemporary debates in metaphysics and epistemology.
