Dr. Matthias Haber is an Adjunct Professor at the Hertie School and currently serves as Senior Director for Data and Insight at Looping Group. He holds degrees from the University of Mannheim, University of Essex, and University of Potsdam. His research focuses on governance, political economy, and computational methods, including work on the Governance Report, Berggruen Governance Index, and foreign cultural policy analysis. He teaches applied data science and law & governance at the graduate level.
Research activities include developing indicators for public impact fundamentals and culture-related governance metrics. His interdisciplinary work bridges political science with machine learning applications in electoral behavior and survey experiments.
