Arndt Leininger is a Research Fellow at the Chair for Political Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin. From April to September 2020, he temporarily substituted for Prof. Dr. Peter Selb in teaching duties at the Professorship for Survey Research, during which he was on leave from his primary position. Previously, he held research fellowships at the Chairs for Public Policy and Empirical Political Science at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.

His research focuses on political behavior and applied quantitative methods, with emphasis on direct democracy, electoral dynamics, youth political engagement, and election forecasting. His work appears in journals such as Political Science Research and Methods, Electoral Studies, and Research and Politics.
Leininger co-founded CorrelAid, a data science nonprofit, and served as its board member. He previously worked as a parliamentary aide in the German Bundestag (2012–2013). Active on Twitter, he discusses political science, citizen participation, and data analysis under @a_leininger.
