Matthias Faust

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Faust is a full-time Professor of Process Engineering at the Institute of Physical Process Engineering within the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (htw saar). He holds a doctorate in Nanoparticle Technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and has extensive industry experience at Fresenius Medical Care, where he led global R&D projects for dialyzer optimization.

• Chemical vapor deposition techniques for advanced materials
• Fuel cell engineering and electrode performance

Publications highlight trends in nanoparticle synthesis, membrane process optimization, and atomic layer deposition for functional materials. He actively participates in international conferences like AIChE and European Aerosol Conference.

At htw saar, he leads the Collegial Management of the Institute of Physical Process Engineering, heads the Mechanical Engineering Bachelor program, and serves on the Engineering & Management Master’s Admissions Committee.
