Matthew Traylor

Dr. Matthew Traylor is an Honorary Lecturer in Statistical Genetics at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), based within the Clinical Pharmacology and Precision Medicine Centre at the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI) under the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. His research focuses on cerebrovascular disease genetics, particularly using genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and statistical methods to identify genetic loci linked to stroke and cerebral small vessel disease. He completed his PhD on the Wellcome Trust Case Control Consortium 2 Stroke Genetics study, followed by postdoctoral research at King’s College London and the University of Cambridge before joining QMUL in 2019. His work integrates genetics with clinical outcomes to understand disease mechanisms and improve precision medicine approaches.
