Dr. Matthew Susnow serves as a lecturer and postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Archaeology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
His educational background includes:

- M.A. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago (2011)
Dr. Susnow's research focuses on the archaeology of the Bronze and Iron Age southern Levant, with particular expertise in ancient religious practices and rituals. His scholarly work bridges archaeological evidence with biblical studies, offering valuable insights into the cultural and religious landscape of ancient Canaan.
His publications include the book 'The Practice of Canaanite Cult: The Middle and Late Bronze Ages' (Zaphon, 2021) and research on significant archaeological discoveries at Tel Abel Beth Maacah.
Dr. Susnow is actively involved in field research as a staff member of the Tel Abel Beth Maacah expedition, where he studied a notable hoard of 406 astragali (knucklebones) used for divination in the ancient world.
