Matthew Sage is an Instructor of Foundations in the Department of Art and Art History at Colorado State University. He holds an MFA in Writing and Intermedia Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2014) and a BA in Creative Writing: Poetry from Colorado State University (2010). His interdisciplinary practice spans intermedia art, music, and publishing, focusing on cultural contexts of media, cross-cultural identity, and power dynamics in audiovisual and digital mediums.

His research examines media interactions across cultural frameworks, including film, television, and online platforms. As an educator, he taught media production, academic writing, and media studies at Northeastern Illinois University for 6.5 years, designing courses like Gender and Media and Video Games and Interactive Media Studies. His artistic output includes solo and collaborative exhibitions at major institutions like The Whitney, MoMA, and MoMA PS1, alongside sound installations and experimental music. He leads Cached.Media, an intermedia publisher releasing experimental music, print, and art objects.
