Matthew Pollock is a Lecturer in Economics and Finance of Real Estate at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London (UCL). He joined UCL in June 2024 after serving as a Lecturer in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University from October 2022 to May 2024. Matthew specializes in behavioral real estate, focusing on housing markets, property investment dynamics, and the interplay between real estate and capital markets.
- Education: MSc in Real Estate Finance (Henley Business School), PhD in Behavioural Real Estate (University of Reading).
His research investigates herding behavior in housing markets, market cycles, liquidity in commercial property, and housing policy. Matthew has published on herding in US housing markets and collaborates on UK housing and commercial investment studies. He teaches modules on property investment analysis, business economics, and financial controls at UCL.
Matthew aligns his work with Sustainable Development Goals 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). He supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and is available for collaborative projects and reviewing academic journals.
