Matthew Pietropaoli, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Providence. Previously, he taught as an adjunct at institutions including The Catholic University of America, Mount St. Mary’s University, and Salve Regina University. His research focuses on the intersection of phenomenology, environmental philosophy, and the philosophy of religion. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America (2020), an MA (2012), and a BA from St. Anselm College (2005).

His scholarship explores how phenomenology, environmental philosophy, and religious philosophy together illuminate human existence, ecological relationships, and transcendent realities. He teaches courses such as Phil 101 and Phil 301 at UP.
Dr. Pietropaoli is new to the Great Falls community and looks forward to future campus and community involvements. He enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and fishing, and appreciates the region’s natural beauty, particularly its sunsets and rivers.
