Matthew Parillo is an Adjunct Professor in the Division of Communication & Creative Media at Champlain College, specializing in Film History and Studies. He has taught courses such as Film History 1 & 2, Censorship in American Cinema, and Italian Cinema since 2010 across three institutions. His research focuses on Italian Neorealism's influence on modern cinema, cinematic censorship, and space travel cinema.
Education: Master of Arts from Fairfield University and Bachelor of Arts from Burlington College.
Research Interests: Matthew’s work explores Italian Neorealism’s legacy, the role of censorship in cinema, and themes in space travel films. He connects historical film movements to contemporary storytelling techniques.
Teaching Experience: Courses include Film Noir, Hollywood Renaissance, and Screenings. He emphasizes global cinematic traditions, including French, German, Soviet, and post-colonial African American film.
