Matthew M. Cruger

Matthew M. Cruger, PhD, serves as Clinical Director and Senior Neuropsychologist at the Child Mind Institute's Gund Learning and Diagnostic Center. He concurrently holds academic appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Child Study Center and Adjunct Professor at NYU, Adelphi University, and Long Island University.

His educational background includes:

• BA in Psychology and English, University of Michigan

Dr. Cruger's research and clinical interests focus on neuropsychology, cognitive assessment, and interventions for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and ADHD. He advocates for evidence-based approaches to enhance academic achievement and emotional well-being, with expertise in organizational skills training and college transition support for teens. His work integrates diagnostic assessment, child brain development, and special education needs.

With extensive experience in psychoeducational evaluations across New York, Dr. Cruger has led workshops for couples on communication and relationship enhancement. His prior roles include Director of the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program at NYU Child Study Center and clinical positions at the Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Saint Mary's Hospital for Children.
