Matthew Johnson is Professor of Public Policy at Northumbria University, Chair of the Common Sense Policy Group, Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS), Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA), and founding Editor of Global Discourse. His work focuses on addressing inequality, social justice, and exclusion through interdisciplinary research. He has secured over £3m in research funding, primarily examining Basic Income as a public health measure to mitigate health and economic inequalities.
