Professor Matthew Hotopf CBE is Executive Dean of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College London, with expertise in psychiatric epidemiology and digital mental health. His research examines mental-physical health interactions using mobile health technologies and large-scale data linkage studies.
Current projects focus on COVID-19 mental health impacts, welfare systems' effects on mental health service users, and remote monitoring technologies for depression. Leads multinational studies including RADAR-CNS consortium and NHS CHECK cohort.
Awards include CBE for psychiatric research contributions, Wayne Katon Research Award, and NIHR Senior Investigator status. Research integrates clinical psychiatry with health policy and technology innovation.
