Matthew Green is an Associate Professor at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in the Department of Physics, with a joint appointment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He holds a PhD from Stanford University (2010) and served as a postdoctoral researcher at UNC-Chapel Hill before becoming a Wigner Fellow at ORNL (2013–2015). His research focuses on neutrino physics, including probing neutrino properties via the MAJORANA Collaboration (Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay) and the COHERENT Collaboration (Coherent Elastic Neutrino Nucleus Scattering).
Educations:
- PhD in Physics, Stanford University, 2010
- Postdoctoral Researcher, UNC-Chapel Hill, 2010–2013
- Wigner Fellow, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 2013–2015
Research Interests:
Dr. Green’s work centers on experimental neutrino physics, particularly:
- MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR: Investigating neutrino mass and nature via Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay.
- COHERENT Collaboration: Detecting Coherent Elastic Neutrino Nucleus Scattering using ORNL’s Spallation Neutron Source.
- Dark Matter searches and fundamental symmetry violations.
