Affiliate Professor John Wilkerson is affiliated with the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of North Carolina. He holds the John R. and Louise S. Parker Distinguished Professor title. His primary research focuses on experimental nuclear and particle astrophysics, including neutrino mass measurements, double beta decay studies, and weak interaction investigations. He is a key member of major international collaborations such as the Majorana Experiment, KATRIN Neutrino Mass Experiment, Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO), and the Russian-American Gallium Solar Neutrino Experiment (SAGE).
Wilkerson is affiliated with the Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory (TUNL) and the University of Washington's Center for Experimental Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics (CENPA). His work spans experimental methodologies in precision particle physics, including data acquisition systems and detector development. He maintains active participation in both the University of Washington Electroweak Interactions Group and the UNC Nuclear & Particle Astrophysics Group.
Professional affiliations include administrative roles at Phillips Hall (UNC) and TUNL facilities. Contact details include offices at Phillips Hall (UNC) and TUNL, with phone numbers (919) 962-1384 (UNC) and (919) 660-2958 (TUNL).
