Matthew G. Reuter is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Institute for Advanced Computational Science at Stony Brook University. He holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Theoretical/Computational Chemistry and Mathematical Physics. Before joining SBU in 2014, he conducted research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Eugene P. Wigner Fellow and at Northwestern University, focusing on electron transport and materials chemistry.
Research interests include theoretical development and computational methods for studying electron transport processes, materials chemistry, and non-equilibrium quantum systems. His group specializes in algorithms for nanoscale phenomena and high-performance computing applications.
Professor Reuter has received multiple teaching awards including the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award. He maintains an active research group website at you.stonybrook.edu/reutergroup, where updates on student achievements (such as a student's Provost’s Award for Academic Excellence) are documented.
