Matthew Fessler Kohler

Matthew Fessler Kohler, MD is a Professor and Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), affiliated with the College of Medicine and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been with MUSC since 1998, specializing in radical and minimally invasive surgery for gynecologic cancers, chemotherapy, and gestational trophoblastic disease. His clinical practice spans two locations in South Carolina.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree from Yale University
• MD from Duke University School of Medicine (1987)
• Residency and Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at Duke University Health System (completed 1991 and 1994, respectively)

Research Interests: Focuses on translational and clinical research in gynecologic malignancies, surgical innovations, and oncologic therapies. His work emphasizes improving outcomes for ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers, particularly in pregnant patients.
