Matthew Eschelbach

Matthew Eschelbach, DO, CPE, FACEP, FAAPL, is Chair & Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific - Northwest (COMP-NW), Western University of Health Sciences. He joined in 2022 and serves as Assistant Director of Career Development. Dr. Eschelbach holds dual board certifications in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, along with certifications in Medical Management and Physician Executive Leadership.

• Education: BA Biology & Sociology (Rutgers College, 1982), MS Microbiology (Oregon State University, 1984), DO (University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, 1988)
• Leadership Roles: Former Emergency Department Medical Director, EMS/Trauma Medical Director, and hospital leadership positions

His expertise spans emergency medical services at local/state/national levels, healthcare leadership, and medical education. He has received multiple awards for teaching and clinical leadership, including national recognitions for his EMS contributions. Dr. Eschelbach actively participates in medical societies, serves on the Oregon Wellness Committee, and has authored peer-reviewed articles and lectures nationally on medical topics.
