Dr. Matthew Darling is a Professor of Music and Interim Associate Dean at the College of Arts and Humanities, Department of Music, California State University, Fresno. He has held leadership roles as Chair of the Department of Music since 2016 and has been a prominent figure in percussion education and performance since 1991.

Dr. Darling specializes in percussion performance and pedagogy, with a focus on premiering contemporary solo and chamber works. He co-authored the digital textbook Listen to the Music, which explores the evolution of Jazz and Rock & Roll. His performance career spans multiple orchestras and national Broadway tours.
