Professor Matthew Clarke serves as Deakin Distinguished Professor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation at Deakin University, with previous roles including Pro Vice-Chancellor Research Development (2020-2023) and Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (2011-2020). He is affiliated with the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation and co-founded the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership, a collaboration with Save the Children Australia working with over 20 international NGOs.
