Matthew Bietz is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on sociotechnical systems, data sharing, and distributed collaborative work. He earned his Ph.D. in Information from the University of Michigan, following degrees in musicology and performance. His work bridges Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) with ethical considerations in technology design.
