Matteo Guzzini is an Associate Professor at UniCamillus since October 2024. He specializes in Orthopedics and Traumatology, with expertise in Hand Surgery, Reconstructive Microsurgery, and Sports Traumatology of the upper limbs. His clinical and surgical career includes roles at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit of S. Andrea University Hospital in Rome, where he served as a Research Fellow, Researcher, and later Associate Professor.
Education:
- BSc in Medicine and Surgery (with Honors, 2004)
- Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology (with Honors, 2009), Sapienza University of Rome
- Advanced Techniques in Microsurgery certification (2009), Italian Society of Microsurgery
Research & Clinical Roles: Over 5,000 surgical procedures performed as primary operator, including the world-first double corticoperiosteal transplant for limb reconstruction. He has served as medical director of the Italian women’s national football team (FIGC) for 14 years and doctor for national youth basketball teams (FIP). Currently, he is a referent doctor for upper limb injuries at the Institute of Sports Medicine and Science (CONI).
Leadership & Affiliations: President and founder of SICM Young, board member of SICM, and member of multiple scientific societies and editorial committees. Author of numerous national and international publications in leading medical journals.
