Dr. Matteo Cella is an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at King's College London and a Clinical Psychologist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He is affiliated with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) and leads research within the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences. His work focuses on psychological interventions for severe mental health conditions, particularly cognitive and motivational difficulties in psychosis and bipolar disorder. He actively contributes to the UNIQUE Research Group and the Virtual Reality Research Lab, exploring digital technologies like VR, wearables, and mobile apps to enhance mental health assessment and treatment. His research also addresses service improvements, including digital remote monitoring and patient involvement in care evaluation.
Dr. Cella teaches on the DClinPsy Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program at King’s College London.
