Matt Stefanak

Matt Stefanak is an Instructor and Public Health Ambassador at Kent State University's College of Public Health, concurrently serving as the Public Health Preparedness Liaison for the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners. With over 24 years as Health Commissioner of Mahoning County's General Health District, his expertise spans public health administration, emergency response, and leadership training. He is a graduate of the CDC and Ohio Public Health Leadership Institutes and mentors emerging health leaders through programs like NACCHO’s Survive and Thrive.

Stefanak's professional focus includes crisis management, health policy advocacy, and community resilience building. His naval reserve service enhances his strategic approach to public health emergencies and interdisciplinary collaboration.
