Matthew Sobnosky is a Visiting Instructor of Rhetoric and Civic Discourse at Florida Atlantic University's School of Communication and Multimedia Studies (2016-2017). He holds a Ph.D. in Speech Communication from the University of Nebraska (1990) and an M.A. from the same institution (1986). His career includes roles as Assistant Professor and Director of Forensics at Emerson College (1990-1997), Director of Debate at the College of William and Mary (1997-2002), and Associate Professor positions at Hofstra University in Speech Communication (2002-2006) and Rhetoric (2009-2016).
His research focuses on rhetorical movements, particularly public health issues related to health and sexuality.
