Dr. Matt Ramer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia, with a focus on Cell and Developmental Biology. His research investigates changes in sensory and sympathetic neurons following injury, particularly their physiological and behavioral consequences in animal models.
- Research areas: Pain, Plasticity, Regeneration, Sensory neurons, Spinal cord injury
He holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. from Queen’s University, Canada, and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at King’s College London. Dr. Ramer leads a research team at ICORD (International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries) and maintains a lab website for his work.
