Mathew Hayward is Professor in the Department of Management at Monash University, Australia. After earning his PhD in Strategy from Columbia University, he held tenured positions at University of Colorado, Boulder and was on the faculty of London Business School. Earlier, he completed a First-class Honors Degree in Commerce (Economics, Finance, Accounting) at the University of Melbourne and worked in investment banking with UBS.

Professor Hayward’s research integrates behavioral decision theory with strategy and entrepreneurship. His work contributes to understanding organizational vulnerability and the social capital foundations of entrepreneurship.
