Massimiliano Perduca is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Verona. His academic sector is BIOS-08/A - Molecular Biology, with research focus in structural biology including crystallography and electron microscopy.
Professor Perduca leads the Biocristallografia e Nanostrutture (Crystallography and Nanostructures) research group, where he conducts structural and functional analysis of proteins involved in illness or with therapeutic potential. His research spans protein crystallography, differential gene expression studies, and the development of nanostructures for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.
He teaches Molecular Biology across multiple programs including Pharmacy, Medical Bioinformatics, and Biotechnology degrees, as well as specialized courses in protein crystallography for PhD students in Nanoscience and Advanced Technologies.
Professor Perduca serves in several important administrative roles:
- Faculty Board of PhD in Nanoscience and Advanced Technologies
- Biotechnology Teaching Committee
- Computer Science Teaching Committee
- QA Board of PhD in Nanoscience and Advanced Technologies
- Biotechnology Departmental Council
His research projects demonstrate a consistent focus on structural biology with practical applications, including the Verona Nanomedicine Initiative and development of biocompatible nanoparticles for therapeutic use.
