Masoud Vaezghasemi is a tenured Associate Professor (Docent) in Global Health at Umeå University's Department of Epidemiology and Global Health. His work focuses on social and contextual inequalities in children's health, particularly mental health services in Low- to Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), precision public health approaches to obesity, and the impacts of climate change on health. He holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health and MSc degrees in Public Health and Food & Nutrition.
Key research projects include developing community-based mental health models in Cambodia, India, and Indonesia, analyzing BMI patterns in Sweden, and addressing global challenges like malnutrition and food insecurity. He is a SIGHT Fellow and currently serves on FORTE's Scientific Review Panel.
