Masha Kocherginsky is a Professor of Biostatistics at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, and Director of the Quantitative Data Sciences Core (QDSC) at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center (RHLCC). She specializes in clinical trial design, survival and competing risks data analysis, and study design with 'omics endpoints, collaborating extensively with cancer researchers across disciplines.
- PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (2003)
Her research focuses on advancing statistical methodologies for cancer clinical trials, particularly in areas such as biomarker validation, survival modeling, and high-dimensional data analysis for oncology endpoints. She leads the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core for Northwestern's Prostate Cancer SPORE and serves as Lead Statistician for the Cancer Prevention Clinical Trials Network (CP-CTNet).
Recent publications highlight her expertise in toxicity prediction in chemotherapy, lymphoma prognosis using PET/CT imaging, genetic susceptibility in breast cancer, and regulatory pathway discovery in myeloproliferative neoplasms. Her work bridges interdisciplinary research across biostatistics, bioinformatics, and clinical oncology.
- ASCO Ambassador, American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) (2025)
- Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award, Winn-AACR Design and Implementation of Clinical Trials Workshop (2024)
Dr. Kocherginsky actively contributes to professional leadership as a member of the NRG Oncology Data Monitoring Committee and the Society for Clinical Trials Program Committee. She oversees the Biostatistics Core at RHLCC and co-chairs its Scientific Review Committee.
