Masato Aoki is an Associate Professor of Economics at the School of Management, Simmons University. His work focuses on economic systems, education reform, social justice, and the political economy of U.S. capitalism. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a BA in Economics and Japanese Studies from Bucknell University.

He also analyzes lessons from historical economists (Smith, Marx, Keynes) to evaluate contemporary policies.
Active in mentorship, he advises students on career paths and social impact. He co-leads ECONnect, a program connecting economics students with alumni for career development. Beyond academia, he advocates for social justice and mentors first-generation and international students.
