His current dissertation project examines how poets and novelists across the Americas engaged with film comedy of the 1920s–30s, including works by Chaplin, the Marx Brothers, and others. Key themes include the adaptation of film comedy into literature, transnational cultural dynamics, and the socio-economic contexts of race and capitalism between the World Wars. His broader interests span modernist poetry, race in U.S. culture (1900–1950), and comparative literary studies.
