Masahiro Terada is a historian affiliated with the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) in Kyoto, Japan, serving as a Visiting Associate Professor. His research spans socio-economic history of the 18th and 19th centuries, evolving toward analyzing the Anthropocene concept through historical narratives and metahistorical methods. He investigates the human condition in the context of natural and manmade disasters and has contributed to exhibitions like 'Documenting Disaster 1703-2003' and 'Someday, for somebody: Museum of Memory after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.'
