María Mejía Yepes is an Assistant Professor at Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications, specializing in Audio Production within the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies. She teaches courses in audio production for media and has a background in modern music, jazz vocals, and sound design.

Prior to her U.S. career, Mejía Yepes taught at a Colombian program aimed at reducing youth violence through music education and served as lead vocalist for the melodic death metal band 'Inheritor.'
