Howard Kalman is an Associate Professor at Ithaca College's Roy H Park School of Communications, Department of Strategic Communication. With over 35 years of corporate and academic experience, he teaches courses in systems thinking and change, leadership communication, and managing the communication function.
- Ph.D. and M.S. in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University
- B.S. in Communications from Ohio University
His research focuses on instructional design, strategic planning, and knowledge management. He co-authored the leading textbook Designing Effective Instruction (6th-8th eds.) and contributed to the Handbook of Human Performance Technology. He serves as a consulting editor for three peer-reviewed journals: Educational Technology Research and Development, Performance Improvement Quarterly, and Journal of Computing in Higher Education.
