Cory Young is a Professor of Strategic Communication at the Roy H. Park School of Communications, Ithaca College, with office location in Roy H Park School of Communications 244, Ithaca, NY 14850. His research centers on crisis and risk communication frameworks, with significant focus on pandemic response strategies, sports communication dynamics, and the intersection of public relations with social media technologies. Current work includes co-authoring the book "Case Studies on Pandemics and Epidemics: Communication Campaigns from the 1918 Influenza to COVID-19" (Routledge, 2025), examining historical and contemporary health crisis communications.
Professor Young actively collaborates with students on research dissemination while maintaining his distinctive role as the department's resident foodie, regularly sharing culinary experiences with students. An avid traveler and advocate for global education, he has visited 11 countries across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and Asia to support his study abroad initiatives.
