María Guadalupe Arreguín

María Guadalupe Arreguín, Ed.D., is a Professor of Early Childhood and Elementary Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), affiliated with the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies in the College of Education and Human Development. Her work focuses on dual language education, biliteracy development, and equity in early childhood settings.

Dr. Arreguín has received numerous accolades, including the AERA Bilingual Education Research SIG Early Career Award and multiple UTSA BESO Outstanding Professor Awards. She has held leadership roles as Vice-President of the National Association for Bilingual Education and President of the Texas Association for Bilingual Education.

She advocates for bilingual learners through professional development initiatives like the Interdisciplinary Biliteracy Sequence (2021 onward) and has presented internationally on topics such as translingual partnerships, equity in dual language classrooms, and environmental education strategies.
