Maryam Franzella is an Associate Professor of Law at Hofstra Law School, Hofstra University, where she teaches legal analysis, writing, and research. She joined the faculty in 2019 and has been actively contributing to legal education and scholarship.

Her research and teaching focus on legal writing, litigation, and legal education. She has presented at state and national conferences and her writings have appeared in legal periodicals. Her professional experience includes ten years of practice in commercial litigation and consumer finance law at firms such as Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid, P.C. and Hogan Lovells, LLP.
Professor Franzella is actively engaged in service and leadership, having chaired the Hofstra Law Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council and the Legal Writing Institute’s awards committee. She has also served on the boards of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court and the Nassau County Museum of Art, and was an assistant editor of the Journal of the Legal Writing Institute.
She has taught graduate-level courses including Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research I and II, as well as Independent Study. Her scholarly work reflects a strong commitment to legal pedagogy and professional development in the legal field.
