Kevin McElroy is a Professor of Legal Writing at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Hofstra University, where he has taught since 2006. He instructs students in Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research, as well as specialized courses in civil procedure, litigation skills, and appellate advocacy. He also serves as Faculty Advisor for the Irish Law Society and represents the law school in the Hofstra University Senate.
His research and professional engagement focus on civil procedure, toxic torts, employment law, and legal writing. He has published in prominent legal periodicals including The National Law Journal, New York Law Journal, and Fordham Environmental Law Reporter. His scholarly work addresses key issues such as expert testimony under Daubert, statute of limitations in latent injury cases, and the preemption effects of FIFRA in toxic tort litigation.
The recent articles reflect a consistent focus on litigation strategy, evidence standards, and regulatory law, particularly in environmental and employment contexts. His writings blend doctrinal analysis with practical insights for attorneys.
