Melissa Henke

Melissa Henke is the Robert G. Lawson & William H. Fortune Professor of Law and Director of Legal Research and Writing at the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. She specializes in legal writing education and has extensive experience in commercial litigation, pro bono civil rights advocacy, and legal practice.

Education:

• J.D. with highest honors from George Washington University Law School (2001)
• B.A. summa cum laude from University of Kentucky (1998)

Research Focus: Legal writing pedagogy, commercial litigation strategies, and pro bono advocacy in civil rights and employment discrimination. Her work emphasizes integrating practical legal skills with ethical representation.
