Mary Yager, MSW, is an Assistant Professor and Social Work Field Director at Lancaster Bible College (LBC). She holds a Master of Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois in Chicago and a BA in Sociology from Wheaton College. With 15 years of professional experience in roles such as school social worker, foster care supervisor, and therapist, she transitioned to academia in 2008. Her teaching career includes adjunct work at Wheaton College for nine years.
Her research and advocacy focus on poverty prevention, urban community needs, multiculturalism, and racial reconciliation. She emphasizes preparing students to address societal inequities through service and ministry, aligning with Matthew 25:35-36. Her courses build foundational skills for social work practice and advanced education. Mrs. Yager actively supports students in securing post-graduation employment and pursuing Master’s degrees.
Outside academia, she resides in Lititz with her husband and two sons, advocating for cultural engagement and hospitality.
