Mary Catherine Scott is an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the Central Pennsylvania Law Clinic at Widener Law Commonwealth, part of Widener University. Her work focuses on providing legal services to underserved communities, particularly in administrative, family, landlord-tenant, consumer, and elder law. She joined the clinic in 2002, progressing from a supervising attorney to director. Her mission emphasizes preparing law students for practice while addressing gaps in legal access for elderly and indigent clients.
Education: BS from the University of Scranton and JD from Widener University School of Law. Professional experience includes roles at the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Board of Appeals and as a law clerk for Judge Richard A. Lewis.
Active in professional organizations: Dauphin County Bar Association Public Services Committee, Clinical Legal Education Association, and the Advisory Council of Elder Justice in the Courts. Recognized for pro bono contributions, including state and county awards in 2022–2023.
Teaches courses such as Introduction to the Legal Process and Interviewing and Counseling. Her advocacy extends to elder justice initiatives and expanding pro bono opportunities in the community.
