Mary Carpenter serves as a Medical Educator in the Department of Family Medicine at Augusta University's School of Medicine, where she works as an Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist at the Augusta University Medical Center (AUMC) family medicine clinic. She pioneered AUMC's first pharmacist-physician collaborative practice agreement for managing diabetes, osteoporosis, resistant hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and COPD/asthma.
Her educational background includes a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from South University, Savannah (2014), where she graduated at the top of her class after completing two pharmacy residencies.
Dr. Carpenter's clinical expertise centers on ambulatory care pharmacy with specialized focus on chronic disease management. She optimizes medication therapy through evidence-based interventions and patient-centered collaborative care models, emphasizing measurable health outcomes and therapeutic adherence.
