Mary C. Connolly is the Program Chair of the Skills-Based Health/Social Emotional program and a Senior Instructor at Cambridge College. She leads master’s and certificate programs in health education, emphasizing skills-based curricula. Her work includes textbook authorship, district consultations to transition programs to skills-based frameworks, and national/state conference presentations.
Education: CAGS, MEd, and BS from Bridgewater State University; Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
Research Focus: Skills-based health education, SEL integration, curriculum design, and teacher training. She advocates for interactive, age-appropriate health education to address youth wellness and academic success.
Awards: Recipient of the MAHPERD Joseph McKenney Award (2020), SHAPE America Hall of Fame (2021), and Cambridge College Leadership & Scholarship Awards.
Professional Contributions: Co-developed Oklahoma’s PreK-12 skills-based health lessons, served on national curriculum committees (SHAPE, Massachusetts), and chairs Boston Public Schools’ Health Education subcommittee.
