John N. Papadonis, MEd, CAGS, is the Program Chair of Science and Digital Literacy Programs at Cambridge College, where he has transformed the General Science Program into one of Massachusetts’s premier science-education pathways. Under his guidance, roughly 20 % of all K–8 licensed science teachers in the state now earn their certification through Cambridge College. In addition to his leadership role at Cambridge College, he serves as a visiting professor at Eastern Nazarene College and as an influential science-education consultant.

Research & Professional Focus
John’s career spans nearly three decades of pioneering K–8 science education. He founded and directed the Burlington Science Center within the Burlington Public Schools, leading innovative initiatives that integrate inquiry-based learning and technology-rich environments. His expertise centers on aligning classroom practice with the Massachusetts Science and Engineering/Technology Standards, and he regularly delivers high-impact professional-development workshops for teachers statewide. His scholarly interests encompass elementary and middle-school STEM pedagogy, digital literacy in science, and the design of standards-aligned curricula that foster scientific thinking in young learners.
