Dr. Mary Ann Wingrave is a Senior Tutor in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow, serving as Programme Leader for Postgraduate Childhood Practice and Director of Partnership. She is affiliated with the Professional Learning and Leadership Research and Knowledge Transfer group. Her research focuses on educational leadership, inclusion (particularly Nurture Groups), professionalisation of early years workforce, gender studies, and contemporary childhood perspectives.
Her work examines policy frameworks and their implementation in childhood practice, with a strong emphasis on professional development in non-compulsory sectors. She has contributed to significant projects such as the Scottish College for Educational Leadership's scoping exercise on early learning and childcare in Scotland, and the revision of the Standard for Childhood Practice with the Scottish Social Services Council.
