Sr. Mary Angelica Neenan, O.P., is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Theology at the University of Dallas. She holds a S.T.D. (Doctorate in Sacred Theology) from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, alongside S.T.L. and S.T.B. degrees from the same institution. Her undergraduate degree in Art with education certification comes from Belmont University. A dedicated educator since 1994, she taught across K-12 and higher education, directed a study abroad program in Italy, and maintains a background in portrait painting. Her research focuses on Fundamental Theology (Thomistic schools, theological anthropology), Moral Theology (Aquinas' virtue ethics, law/conscience), and Spiritual Theology (classical saintly writings, spiritual growth).
Her publications explore topics like conscience, virtue pedagogy, and Thomistic anthropology, appearing in Ex Latere Christi and other venues. She has presented widely on themes such as the nature of the soul, true/false freedom, and feminine virtue. Teaching courses cover biblical theology, moral theology, Mariology, and sacramental theology. While no specific awards are noted, her work bridges classical theological traditions with contemporary moral challenges.
Her academic service includes roles at Aquinas College's study abroad program and presentations at MIT, Texas A&M, and international conferences. Though no grants or formal lab affiliations are mentioned, her interdisciplinary approach integrates art, philosophy, and theology in exploring human nature and spiritual life.
