Marvin Hyatt

Marvin Hyatt is a Lecturer in the School of Construction at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), where he has taught Carpentry since 2013. He became a certified Journeyman Red Seal Carpenter in 1987 and has over 40 years of trade experience. He founded his own carpentry business in 1985, specializing in turn-key home building, renovations, commercial projects, and restoration of flood/fire-damaged structures.

Education:

• Bachelor of Arts in Communication, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (1983)
• Restoration courses for disaster-damaged buildings

His instructional focus includes practical carpentry techniques, construction project management, and building restoration. He integrates industry experience into curriculum development.
